INTERNSHIP TITLE: Curriculum Development Aide

DESCRIPTION: Arizona Rivers exists solely to protect Arizona’s imperiled rivers and riparian habitats in support of diverse native fish communities, wildlife, plants, and human health and enjoyment. We are developing an age-scaled, live (native) fish program to market to K-12 schools in our priority communities throughout Arizona. That’s where you come in.
QUALIFICATIONS: Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to work with us and our partners to both complete the course drafts and identify teachers and schools willing to integrate a native fish activity into their classrooms. You will also work to coordinate and receive donations of fish tanks and equipment and work with the Development/Fundraising team to seek funds for an ongoing program. Excellent written communication and editing skills are a must. The perfect candidate will have lab or field education experience. Familiarity with state and federal agencies and some experience developing curricula are a plus as well. Success in this position could lead to work with Arizona Rivers or one of our 20+ partner organizations.

DESCRIPTION: Arizona Rivers exists solely to protect Arizona’s imperiled rivers and riparian habitats in support of diverse native fish communities, wildlife, plants, and human health and enjoyment. We maintain a website, a Facebook page, and a Twitter account so that we may reach out to interested publics and engage them in activities to support our mission. It’s time to expand our reach, create some buzz, kick some ass, and save some rivers. That’s where you come in.
QUALIFICATIONS: Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to make a content-rich website work seamlessly with our social media outreach. (To pique interest in the issues we care about, which in turn drives our programmatic wins.) Success with this important project could lead to work with Arizona Rivers or one of our 20+ partner organizations. This position requires all of the following: 1) extensive knowledge of web development and search engine optimization; 2) understanding how to integrate and update multi-media content; 3) knowing how to create or update interactive messaging/ donations/ subscription centers on websites; and 4) proven success growing the web presence of a highly dynamic personal or organizational profile site. Any additional experience with creating interactive maps and components and working with Google Earth would also be extremely useful.
